Mainly Music is back for term 1

Over 20 children participated in Mainly Music last week when sessions resumed for 2024, bringing joy and laughter to parents, pre-schoolers, toddlers and babies.

The blanket game, the clapping song and story time are some of the few interactions that kids can enjoy at Mainly Music.
The blanket game, the clapping song and story time are some of the few interactions that kids can enjoy at Mainly Music.

The program began during term four of 2022 and has had great success in Pittsworth.

It aims to create a rich learning environment for young children.

Sessions are filled with songs, rhymes, actions and movement designed to engage parents and their children, to create memories together.

Snacks and refreshments are on offer afterwards, and are not to be missed.

One of the volunteers, Yvonne, rises at 5 o’clock that morning, just to prepare a delicious, homemade morning tea for attending families.

It is run by Rev. Willie Liebenberg and  volunteers of the Uniting Church during school terms.

Volunteers also travel out to Millmerran on Tuesdays for sessions.

They have a smaller number of participating families, but more are always welcome to join.

Pittsworth has seen the number of families in attendance grow over the past year, the largest being 32 children in one session.

The average number of attendance is between 22 and 24.

Weekly sessions in Pittsworth take place on Thursdays, 9.15am at the Uniting Church.

Come along and register for next week.

Your child (or children) will receive a bag of instruments and props that they will need for each session, which are kept at the church for safekeeping.

Millmerran sessions are on a Tuesday, 9.15am at the Uniting Church hall.
