The staff from Raff Clifton were working the barbecue while customers shuffled through, grabbing a bacon and egg role, and finding a spot to park for a chat.

Kate Flynn approached Rob Raff suggesting they put on a barbecue given that June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

“Especially with the tradies in town and foodies out of action we thought we’d put on this barbecue,” Kate said.

She went to Julie at the Jam Factory who facilitated the Clifton Op Shop covering the cost of the barbecue.

“It’s a free barbecue but we’ve raised $170 in donations, I didn’t expect anything but people have been donating its great,” Kate said.

The money raised from Friday’s barbecue will be donated to a TIACS (This Is A Conversation Starter) and will allow for two hours of free counselling.

TIACS focuses on blue collar, men's mental health.
