Millmerran art students impress with pet portraits
Year 7 visual art students from Millmerran State School have created impressive sketches of their beloved pets that are on display in Pittsworth.

The explanation by the school about the Family Pet Portrait exhibition is as follows:
Animals have shared our homes, farms and lives for a thousand years.
More than just companion, pets become part of our families.
They greet us at the door, sit beside us when we are sad, make us laugh with their unique personalities and create memories that stay with us for a lifetime.
The Family Pet Portraits exhibition celebrates the special bonds between young people and the animals they love.
Through graphite pencil drawing, Year 7 students carefully observed and captured the individual features, expressions and personalities of their pets.
Each portrait tells a story of friendship, loyalty, companionship, and connection.
The accompanying artist statements share personal memories and reflections, allowing viewers to learn more about the animals behind each portrait.
Together, these drawings celebrate the joy, comfort and unconditional love that animals bring to our families and communities.
From dogs and cats, to chickens and geckos, the sketches are visible from Yandilla Street, in the shop windows of Pittsworth and District Vet Services.
