More rubbish left for someone else to clean up

Shannan Jessen found another load of rubbish, this time dumped on Shannon Road, but the perpetrators left their name and address on some of their rubbish.

This dump load, according to Shannan came from what seemed to be a mother and son pair from Gatton.

She posted the rubbish on Facebook urging the dumpers to come forward.

When they didn’t she reported them to the council.

“Both receipts had peoples names on it. I’m sure it’s mother and son,” Shannan said.

This follows a report of dumping on Mt. Molar, published in this newspaper in June.

That last load was cleaned up by Mt. Molar local Bruce Hamilton.

But the Bruce’s of the world shouldn’t have to clean up other people’s rubbish.

Especially when they’re driving from Gatton to pollute our district.

On-the-spot fines of $2,763 apply for individuals and $8,635 for corporations, up to maximum court-imposed penalties exceeding $863,000.

To lodge a complaint about littering or illegal dumping report it online, via the TRC website or call 131 872.
