'Mrs Ferg' honoured in library naming
The Southbrook school library has been named the Lou Ferguson Library in honour of the many years Nancy Louise Ferguson, a.k.a. Mrs Ferg, spent assisting in the education of local students.

Here’s what school principal Julie Rice had to say at the recent naming ceremony:
“Nancy Louise Ferguson first began her association with Southbrook Central State School way back in 1979.
In those days she was forced to resign when she had her children, but she returned a few years later and her loyalty to the school has been unwavering from then until the end of 2021 when she decided to try out retirement and see if she was ready.
No doubt if we look back on the history of the school, we would find that different people featured in prominent ways at various times.
Nancy or Lou or Mrs Ferg has had a profound impact on the school over her many years of devoted service.
Many people here, and many people who couldn’t be with us today would no doubt look upon Mrs Ferg’s time at the school with fondness and gratitude.
