Neighbourhood Watch receives this month’s Community Chest
This month’s Community Chest was presented at the Bernborough Tavern to the Oakey Neighbourhood Watch group.
Tavern representative John Webster said the Tavern had donated $800 to the Neighbourhood Watch.
Oakey Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator Elissa Parker said the group was grateful for the Tavern’s support, and that the money would be used to help protect documents in the event of natural disasters.
“The $800 will be used to help people with resources to help protect their documents as well as practical home security/property measures,” she said.
“These document holders are waterproof, and you’ll able to store your files all in the one place together.”
The group meets regularly at the Oakey RSL on the first Tuesday of each month, with local police as guest speakers.
