New chapter for J. & B. Faux Electrical
After more than 30 years servicing Pittsworth and the surrounding district, J. & B. Faux Electrical is entering a new chapter, with the business transitioning to NRG Services while continuing to support the local community it has worked alongside for decades.
Owner Jamie Faux said the decision was about ensuring the business, its people and its customers remained well supported into the future.
“This business has always been about looking after local people,” Mr Faux said.
“We’ve built good relationships over a long time, and I wanted to make sure that continued.
“NRG will provide this with high-quality service in electrical, air conditioning, solar, data and energy management to service the needs of any project.”
Mr Faux was pleased to confirm that NRG Services will continue in the existing office and shed, located
in Cypress Street, and use the same landline number (4693 2249).
“It’s also fantastic that local tradespeople and apprentices - the likes of Josh Lee, Darby Manktelow, Jackson Griffiths and Grace Muggleton - will continue to provide their expertise through NRG, for that local touch,” he said.
Throughout the years, Mr Faux has become a well-known and respected figure across the district, not only through his electrical work but also his contribution to the local community, and the many apprentices and young electricians he has mentored along the way.
His career began at Whittaker’s Electrical in 1979, before starting up his own business in 1996.
Since then, Mr Faux estimated he has mentored over 40 apprentices, who have taken up careers in the industry, some of which have gone on to start their own businesses.
NRG Services Managing Director Dan Briskey said the focus of the transition would remain on continuity, with familiar faces and the same level of service customers have come to expect.
“This is about continuing what Jamie has built, not changing it,” Mr Briskey said.
“It’s the same people, the same service, and the same commitment to the community, just with a few more services to support the region into the future.”
For Mr Briskey, the transition is also personal.
Raised in the Pittsworth district with strong family ties still in the area, he said the opportunity to continue a trusted local business meant a great deal.
“Pittsworth has always felt like home in many ways,” he said.
“My parents were raised here, and I still have family in the district, including my grandparents Reg and Merle.
“Being able to support the community in this next chapter is something I’m very proud of.”
While the branding may change over time, both Mr Faux and Mr Briskey said customers could expect business as usual.
“Different shirts, same service,” Mr Briskey said.
Jamie and Bernadette Faux are grateful to the Pittsworth community for their continued support over the last 30 years.
The pair expressed their heartfelt appreciation to administration officer Bronwyn Wagner, who has been a loyal and dedicated member of the J. & B. Faux Electrical team for the last 26 years.
While Mr Faux is handing over operations to NRG Services, he’s adamant that retirement is not on the cards just yet.
You can still expect to see him out and about at the shed in Cypress Street, business as usual.
The transition to NRG Services is set to take place within the next month.
Local team transitioning to NRG
Josh Lee
Josh’s connection with Jamie Faux spans more than 15 years, having started his apprenticeship back in 2010. Since then, the pair maintained a strong working relationship that will continue as the business transitions to NRG Services.
Reflecting on his early years in the trade, Josh said working with Jamie provided a huge variety of experience and helped shape the tradesman he is today.
“I probably wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for working out here with Jamie,” Josh said.
After spending recent years building up his own business, Josh is now looking forward to returning to the fold and joining the NRG Services team.
He’ll be spending less time on the tools while continuing to bring his experience and knowledge to the team.
Darby Manktelow
Darby started his apprenticeship at J. & B. Faux Electrical in 2018 and has been a valued part of the team ever since.
He said Jamie had imparted valuable knowledge over the years of his apprenticeship, and Darby is excited to see what the future holds for him at NRG Services.
One of the things he enjoys most about his job is the variety of work each day brings.
Jackson Griffiths
Jackson’s been part of the Faux team for just over six months.
He is confident the transition to NRG Services will be a positive one for both staff and customers, and expects for the most part, it’ll be business as usual.
Outside of work, Jackson is also focused on building his professional boxing career and is hopeful the flexibility he has enjoyed with Jamie will continue with NRG Services.
Grace Muggleton
At just 18, Grace, who is from Ryeford, is excited to join the team as she prepares to commence her electrical apprenticeship.
She has already been gaining valuable hands-on experience working as a trade assistant.
With her Nan and Pop based in Pittsworth, joining NRG Services was the perfect fit to begin her career in the electrical industry.
Grace is eager to continue learning on the job, build her skills, and be part of the NRG Services team.
