The building will be delivered under the  Queensland Government’s   four-year School Halls and Performing Arts Centre Program for various schools to deliver new facilities, infrastructure upgrades and refurbishments focused on improving learning and creating opportunities for stronger engagement in communities.

The $6.88 million project at Pittsworth State High School involves construction of a new single-storey multi-purpose hall.

The multi-purpose facility will include a single court area, kinesiology lab/gym, stage, equipment and chair stores, amenities and change rooms, kitchen and kiosk, green room, staff work room with a kitchenette and an office for the Head of Department.

The hall will support the delivery of curriculum, with the ability for sporting activities such as badminton, volleyball, netball and basketball.  The hall will also be used as an auditorium for school gatherings.

This Pittsworth project is listed in the Government’s Great Schools, Great Future election policy and was approved for inclusion in the department’s infrastructure investment portfolio as a high priority in the School Halls Program.
