Nobby event raises tens of thousands
The second annual Mental Health Awareness day at Rudd’s Pub on Saturday, 11 October saw a massive spike in attendance contribute towards an impressive sum of $23,150 donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The Mental Health Awareness in The Transport, Rural & Civil Industries was hosted by Long Road Events in conjunction with Rudd’s Pub owners Evan and Gayle Jones.
Darren Eyers from Long Road Events said it was an excellent day and he was happy with the result, which saw 340 paid entries, up from 190 last year.
Mr Eyers said he would like to thank the 16 members of the Long Road Events team for their hard work organising the event.
He also thanked all of the major sponsors, the guest speakers, the musicians and Evan and Gayle Jones for kindly donating the venue.
The guest speakers included Dr Tim Driscoll from the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Bethany Porter from Our House Our Haven, Heather Smith from Step by Step, Warren Davies - The Unbreakable Farmer and Tracey Marley the Truckie Nutrition Chick.
Guests enjoyed plenty of entertainment including tarp tying, tug ‘o’ war and light plug wiring competitions alongside a truck and car show.
Live music from Kylie Hogan, Zac Anthony and Josie was much enjoyed.
Rudd’s Pub owner Evan Jones agreed the event was a great day and the pub had close to 500 patrons in total, which is not far from the entire population of Nobby.
