Nobby residents petition for library

At this week’s Regional Council meeting, a petition was put forth to have a mobile library come to Nobby.

Residents from Nobby put forward the petition with 114 signatures requesting a mobile library be available at some time late in the day or early evening.

With no local library and the closest one being in Clifton, and only opening Tuesday to Thursday during regular business hours means that residents of Nobby who work, find it hard to access.

As such Nobby residents have organised to advocate for access to a library, especially for students in the area.

Extending Toowoomba Regional Council’s mobile library service to a permanent stop in Nobby would provide an equitable chance for students across the region to strengthen literary skills.

The motion put forward by Cr Melissa Taylor was accepted unanimously by Council.
