Oakey Library paints a picture of what’s to come in 2024
A school holiday diorama box creation activity was just the first event in what’s set to be a busy year at the Oakey Library.
Kids quickly got to work using templates printed from a Cricut cutting machine as the background for their new world.
Parents and grandparents reported that it was a good way to keep their young ones occupied and interested.
Building your own diorama is easy and can be done using a shoebox, coloured sheets of paper and decorative items from your local craft store!
The activity was just one of several taking place in libraries across the region over the holidays with magic wands at Cecil Plains, paper world creation at Quinalow and cooling off with a self-made summer fan at Goombungee.
Meanwhile, in other Library related-news mums and bubs can breathe easy with playtime set to return at Oakey Library weekly on Tuesdays from 10am.
Storytime only will take place at Goombungee weekly on Thursdays at 9am, at Quinalow weekly on Tuesdays 9.30am and fortnightly at Cecil Plains on every Friday starting on Australia Day at 9.30am.
For the computer-challenged, technology classes will begin tomorrow (Thursday 25th January) and continue weekly until the end-of term time on 28th March.
There is a range of tutorials and classes relating to tech help and cyber-safety.
