Oakey Show Society Team Penning 2025
Cold and blustery conditions did not prevent Oakey’s annual Team Penning event from running recently.

Riders of all ages combined in teams of three competitors and horses to compete over a weekend displaying their skill, passion and horsemanship.
Competitors and their families braved gale force winds and extremely cold conditions to ensure the day was a success.
The cattle for the day were sponsored by Andrew and Courtney Pentecost of Doctors Creek Cattle Co. and transported to and from the showgrounds thanks to Mort & Co. and their driver Ben Biltoft. The cattle were fantastic for the teams to work with resulting in many scores on the day with the fastest ten teams all penning three head within 53 seconds.
Winners received a combination of cash and prizes in excess of $3000.
Major sponsors include Rob from Bernborough Hardware, who has been a sponsor of this event for 13 years, Geraldine from Wholesale Horsewear House, and John and Kerry from Lake Lillerie Feedlot who have also been long term sponsors of this event.
Thank you to all sponsors, supporters and the volunteers. These events only happen with a great working together.

Great times here and we look forward to next year’s event August 2026.
At the conclusion of the event the cattle owners and volunteers took the time for the youngest competitors to have some fun and pen the cattle.
The committee encourage all ages to compete in this event which has again proven the popularity of this sport. Watch this space as we prepare for the Oakey Show 2026, Saturday 14th March.
