On the Buses - with new owners
It’s not every day that a School Bus Run comes up for sale but when it does a progressive local couple becomes very interested and then go on to purchase the business.
Stuart and Bri Masters are now the proud owners of Masters Bus Service which has two 57-seater and two 24-seater buses and four school bus run routes - Hendon, Berat, Spring Creek and Talgai West. (on page 2 we look back at the history of this Bus Service).The business was owned by Mathew and Tracey Heslin who are Stuart’s Uncle and Aunty so ongoing support is on hand. Everything will continue as it has been with the same reliable drivers staying. Stuart and Bri will be back-up drivers and charter drivers when required.
As well as the school bus run, Masters Bus Service offers charter services where the buses are available for hire such as weddings, engagement parties, local races and special events. The history of the buses is of local interest.
Mathew and Tracey (nee Wright) Heslin purchased the business from Colin and Betty Gay in February 2012 (14 years ago). Mathew moved from Dunedoo NSW to Allora. Tracey was born and raised in Allora on a dairy farm that still operates today. Mathew and Tracey have raised their own family of four children in Allora. Mathew and Tracey are also known for previously owning Whites Garage for many years before selling in 2015.
The new owners are already known around town as Bri works at a nearby high school in the office part-time. Stuart works for his family’s business Dalrymple View who are local beekeepers and manufacture high-quality timber hive components.
Stuart was raised in Allora by his parents Neil and Sharon (nee Wright) Masters and Bri was raised in Toowoomba. Bri and Stuart have two young children, Charlotte (6) and Max (5).The couple moved back to Allora once they had children for the Allora lifestyle and community.
