Origin night at O’Shanley’s
Plenty of people were out and about for the Origin Decider, O’Shanley’s Irish Pub had the game on and rival supporters packed the pub.

There was plenty of maroon and blue about the Irish bar last Wednesday night.
The influx of labourers for insurance works currently going on no doubt added to the atmosphere as locals and the newcomers mingled in front of the footy.
Those just keen on the game found themselves mixing easily with strangers as they all gathered around to watch the 2026 State of Origin Decider.
Being so close to the NSW border and having Queensland born, Blues supporting agitators like Robyn Kersley and Mandy Beatson, the Origin rivalry is never a tame affair in this town.
Publican Mandy Beatson’s cousin, Anthony Perrett, comes down to O’Shanley’s every year to bet on the outcome with his cousin.
Anthony is a staunch Queenslander whereas Mandy, is a Blue.
The loser has to be pictured after the game, with the opposition flag draped about them.
Unfortunately for Anthony and the Queens-landers he is pictured with a Blues flag, hanging heavy on the maroon’s shoulders.
