Perfect example of Allora Groups working for each other
Allora QCWA hit upon the idea of creating a giant banner with the words made out of Red Poppies “Lest We Forget” and donating it to the Allora RSL. Naturally the RSL members were very excited.

The Monday Craft ladies got to work and over a number of months (in fact they have lost count of the hours - but they’re not complaining).
A labour of love - after about 260 poppies were crocheted the banner was taking shape. (size of the banner 4 meters long x 600mm high.)
Now they had to sew all the poppies onto the hessian to form the words “Lest We Forget” in Red Poppies (a symbol of commemoration) with Purple Poppies to remember all the animals.
On display in the Pavilion during the Show (in fact took out 2nd place in the Sunflower Challenge) - then the banner will take pride of placed above the stage in the Allora RSL Hall.
