The premiership winning Under 13 Pittsworth Danes side, who triumphed last weekend at the Clive Berghofer Stadium in Toowoomba.

Fans were treated to some exciting, nerve racking, edge of your seat, down to the wire football with both teams having extremely close games.

The day started with the Under 13 Girls kicking off at 8.30am against Highfields Eagles.

Captains Josie, Bridie and Sally led the girls out onto the pristine field at Clive Berghofer Stadium.

The girls started slowly, letting Highfields get away to a 12-0 lead.

Coach Melissa Thompson was concerned it was going to be a rough day but to the girls’ credit they narrowed the gap to 12-8 at half time.

The second half saw the girls step up as a team with some great running and try scoring from Emere and Sally.

Josie really lifted the team in attack and defence and was the deserving winner of the player of the match award.

The girls put on a couple of late tries taking the win against Highfields 30-18.

The score did not reflect the closeness of the game.

The win in the Grand Final caps off an exceptional year for the Under 13 girls.

They had a goal right from the first training session to make the Grand Final and become Premiers.

They worked incredibly hard, unbeaten all season and were elated to raise the Premiers Trophy. Well done Girls – DREAM BIG!

The Under 15 Girls kicked off at 10.40am, also against Highfields.

The girls knew that Highfields would bring their best football and they were ready and up for the challenge.

Heidi as Captain, led the girls out with ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ playing through the speakers.

As expected, the game was close with Highfields only four points ahead at half time.

The second half saw the whole team pull together and support each other.

Chloe T, with some strong running got across the line for two tries.

Ella lifted the girls with some rock solid defence and great running in her player of the match performance.

Well done, Ella.

The Pittsworth girls were up 14-8 with one minute to go when Highfields burst through for a try, bringing the score to 14-12 with the kick to come.

All eyes were on the goal kicker who slotted the goal through, locking the scores at 14-all, taking the game into extra time.

Coach Mark Duncombe was in for a nervous wait as the girls kicked off to Highfields.

Once the Pittsworth girls got the ball in their hands they set up some plays and put Isabelle through for the match winning try.

Pittsworth Under 15 girls took the win 18-14 in an absolute nail-biter.

Special mention and thank you to the Under 13 Girls who back up for the Under 15 girls – Josie, Emere, Summer and Sally.

The Under 13 and Under 15 girls would like to thank their supporters who came out in numbers to cheer them on, your support helped the girls get across the line – THANK YOU!!
