More than 25 children made the trip to the Gold Coast on a bus piloted by local James Wagner.

The event was funded by local sponsors including the pub, local paper, Post Office, Lions Club, Tennis Club and individual citizens who all chipped in to make the visit happen.

Senior Constable Holmwood said she felt the day was a success.

“I’d like to thank everyone that made Wet’n’Wild possible...and that jumped in to help,” she said.

“We are truly blessed to live in such a supportive community.”

Parents said they appreciated the initiative taken by Snr Constable Holmwood and the Cecil Plains Lions Club.

From all reports, the Plains kids were tired but excited at the end of the day.
