Premium compost now at your fingertips
McKinlay's Nursery Supplies and Garden Centre on Mallard Road is now supplying Pure NV Compost for the Pittsworth community and surrounds.
Caroline Coutts, who has been employed at McKinlay’s Nursery for 17 years and still wakes up in the morning eager to go to work, said people are always coming through the gates looking for compost, and now she can offer them some of the best there is!
Joe Mildren of Pure NV Compost (which has been operating for four years from its base at Leyburn) said its product is of the highest quality, rich in organic matter and essential nutrients.
It meets the Australian Standards AS4454 for Composts, Soil Conditioners and Mulches - in layman’s terms, it’s the real deal.
“There’s no rough stuff in it,” Mr Mildren said.
“A local agronomist got two tyres and filled them up full of compost four years ago, and he’s still picking bloody vegetables in straight compost, nothing else, and waters it once a week, so it holds the moisture in the top soil.”
“We’re thrilled to bits this lady [Ms Coutts] is going to take it on for McKinlay’s Nursery... we’ve got clients in town who are looking for it.”
Residents can visit the Mallard Road site to purchase a trailer load or speak with Ms Coutts about deliveries.
McKinlay’s Nursery Supplies and Garden Centre (Mallard Road) is open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 12pm Saturday and 9am to 12pm Sunday.
