Primary students tour Toowoomba City Hall with Mayor McDonald

Last Thursday, school leaders from Pittsworth State School, St. Stephen’s Primary School, Millmerran State School and St. Joseph’s Primary School received a guided tour of Toowoomba City Hall with Mayor Geoff McDonald.

The students learnt about the history of Toowoomba City Hall, which opened in 1900 as the centrepiece of local decision-making, community events and civic life.

Inside the official Council Chamber, each student had a turn in the Mayor’s chair, and ran a mock meeting.

Erin Fuhlbohm, from St. Stephen’s Primary School, confidently moved that the school repaints the Year 6 handball courts, a motion that received enthusiastic support from the group.
