Pursehouse Rural Farmer’s Charity Golf Day

Held at the Clifton Golf Club by Pursehouse Rural Clifton, the Farmer’s Charity Golf Day was a day out in the sun raising money for the Clifton Community Health Service. Plenty of Cliftonites made the time to get out, swing a stick, and donate toward a great cause.

Everyone was in good spirits out at the Clifton Golf Club last Thursday.

Despite the wind, everyone was glad to be out in the sun, playing some golf.

Bill Smith and Dario Semenzin were on the barbecue sizzling up some snags and steaks.

Jack Austin from Queensland Ag Seeds wasn’t hitting at his best, but was enjoying the day out:

“Yeah average hitting but I’m having a good time,” he said.

“We’ve been having plenty of laughs and good times so that’s all that matters.”

The Clifton Golf Club was crawling with buggys and golfers throughout the day.

There were snags and drinks back at the club house waiting for the golfers, after which in the afternoon, sun drenched and tired, everyone filled the clubhouse for the award ceremony and raffle.

Winners were Hayden Gomez and Michael Hayward, with Darren and Daniel Hedges coming second.

Gayle and Gary Riddle came third.

Will Bazley auctioned off a handcrafted whip which had been donated to the fundraiser, while everything else which had been donated as prizes was offered up in the raffle.

There were plenty of laughs at the Club as the golfing community came together for a good cause.

Winners were jeered by the crowd as they walked up to claim their prizes in what was a great display of community camaraderie.

This is the third Farmers Charity Golf Day hosted by Pursehouse Rural.

Hayden Gomez and Michael Hayward will have their names etched on the third plaque of the Farmers Charity Golf Day Shield.

The money raised from tickets and a raffle will be going toward the Clifton Community Health Centre.

Overall, $15,000 was raised over the day through ticket sales and the raffles.
