Remembrance Day: Remember to Remember
The Clifton RSL Sub-Branch invites the local community to attend its Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph on the corner of King and Edward streets at 10.55am next Tuesday, 11 November 2025.

The commemorative service will include dignitaries/local people of importance in attendance, who will recite the Ode and wreath laying.
Remembrance Day is a day for the community to acknowledge the service personnel who have died while serving, including in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
Clifton RSL Sub-Branch President Anne Glasheen encouraged the community to Remember to Remember on 11 November to honour those who gave their lives in service to their country.
“Remembrance Day gives us all an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifice of our veterans, and to pause to honour the freedoms they fought so hard to protect,” Mrs Glasheen said.
“We invite and encourage locals to gather at our commemorative service on November 11, which will give our community the opportunity to mark this meaningful occasion and pay their respects.”
This year, everyone is encouraged to take part in Remembrance Day services, with RSL Queensland’s official state commemoration at Brisbane’s ANZAC Square to be live streamed on the RSL Queensland Facebook page for those who cannot attend a service in person.
In memory of those who served and sacrificed for our nation, the community is encouraged to wear a red poppy on Remembrance Day.
“No matter how you choose to commemorate on the day, all we really ask is that you Remember to Remember,” Mrs Glasheen said.
Leyburn Service
A service will be held at the Leyburn RSL Museum from 10.50am to 11.30am.
The 2025 Leyburn RSL Sub-Branch Remembrance Day ceremony will include the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post, and the observance of a minute’s silence at 11am.
