Rhonda’s last bus run
School bus driver Rhondda Lawrie has signed off after decades of running school kids across the Region, home.
Russell Scifleet, Rhondda Lawrie, and Sherelle Scifleet.
Rhondda and husband David Lawrie owned the local school bus run in Queen Street up until last decade, when they sold to Russell and Sherelle Scifleet, who now run it from Gayle Street.
“All the kids were so good,” she said.
“I enjoyed listening to students talk about what they’d done on the farm the night before, and got to know the parents quite well.”
