Ruby King rules the ring

Pittsworth boxer Ruby King was crowned champion in the 41-43kg division at the recent Australian Boxing Council (ABC) Golden Gloves tournament at Bribie Island.

In a dominant display, 13-years-old Ruby put an eight count on her opponent only 15 seconds in, before finishing the fight at the 34 second mark after landing some heavy blows.

The result was a gold medal and another title for the young boxer to add to her growing list of achievements which includes  an Australian Amateur Boxing League national title.

Ruby has put her success down to the hours of work her coaches have poured into her, and she thanked everyone who helped her reach this stage of her career.
