Rural roadwork progressing
Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Infrastructure Services Group employees have been working on many roads across the district and presented an update to Councillors this month with photos from July.

Several local roads were referenced in the report.
Oakey-Biddeston Road (Biddeston). The sub-grade replacement was completed in July and placement of the geo-grid and sub-base gravel layer works is ongoing. Approximately five working days were lost due to wet weather and saturated ground conditions.
Bowenville-Moola Road (Irvingdale) – sub-grade treatment works. The project is expected to be finished in October.
Drayton Wellcamp Road (Wellcamp) - Sealing of the eastbound lane. The eastbound side of Drayton Wellcamp Road was sealed in July and works are now taking place on the westbound side.
Glencoe Yalangur Road (Gowrie Little Plain) - Newly constructed concrete floodway.
McIntyre Road (West Prairie) - C&M South Heavy formation grade and import of material.
Bongeen School Road (Bongeen) - Rehabilitation Project - unsuitable subgrade material was identified which is being excavated and replaced, prior to the pavement works being able to take place. Approximately ten working days were lost due to wet weather and saturated ground conditions.
Council has also been working on completing the January 2024 Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (‘DRFA’) works.
Reconstruction of Essential Public Assets (‘REPA’) scope for the flood damage caused during the declared January 2024 weather event has commenced.
Works were completed during July on the following roads:
-Berghofer Road (Biddeston)
-F. Kent Road (Bongeen)
-Galligan Road (Formartin)
-Kearney Road (Oakey)
-McIntyre Road (West Prairie)
-Newton-Stephen Road (Bowenville)
-Power Road (West Prairie)
-West Prairie Road (Yargullen)
Works also continued elsewhere, with approximately 30 kilometres of grading completed across the localities of Anduramba, Aubigny, Coalbank, Crows Nest, Douglas and Evergreen.
Finally, an application was received and approved by TRC to permanently close Hueys Road, located between Hauslers Road and Acland-Sabine Road at Devon Park.
