Sad Passing of Postie Shaz
Sharon Nielsen (Shaz) passed away on Sunday 11 January 2026 after a long illness.
A highlight for Shaz - holding the actual Melbourne Cup when it passed through Allora in 2021
For over 30 years Shaz has been a familiar face around Allora delivering mail to the locals.
Shaz would shout out from the truck window or from her bike with the catch cry - G’day mate.
She was of the town’s happy local characters. Let’s give her a grand farewell on Friday 30 January at a Graveside Service at the Allora Cemetery.
