Seniors Morning Tea well attended

Volunteers from Oakey’s churches put on a well-attended Seniors Morning Tea at the Oakey Cultural Centre recently, catered for by a team of Oakey State High School students who were well-prepped by Mrs Dianah Ray.

Despite several being completely fresh to catering and service, the Oakey State High School students did a great job at making sure the needs of all those attending the Morning Tea were met.

Well over 100 seniors were in attendance, which the event organisers, Oakey and District Christian Leaders Network, led by Lesley Hughes, were pleased by.

Entertainer Jam in a Can, a regular at CWA House, put on her usual captivating performance, taking our seniors for a trip down memory lane with tunes from the 1950s to today.

A slight disappointment was no musical participation from the local schools this year.

Attendees reported going home well fed, and with well-used social batteries.
