Organised by Get Chopped Community Events Inc., the annual event attracts hundreds of spectators and racers with its high-speed downhill course, family-friendly atmosphere, and strong local spirit.

There are even whispers of a celebrity billy cart race between Webcke and last year’s special guest, Toowoomba Mayor Geoff McDonald.

The Billy Cart Challenge is continuing as per usual despite the sale of the Get Chopped Pub from the Quirey family to new owner Grant McKay, which was only finalised recently.

Former Get Chopped publican Brendon Quirey, Vice President of Get Chopped Community Events Inc., said the organisers are committed to providing yet another great family day out.

“Having Shane Webcke opening our event is a great honour and something the Greenmount community can be proud of,” Mr Quirey said.

Incoming publican of the Greenmount Pub, Grant McKay, also shared his excitement:

“I can’t wait to be open and ready to join my new community in enjoying what I hear is a great day in Greenmount.”

The Greenmount Billy Cart Challenge was first held in 2023 and again took place last year.
