Something for everyone at SG Markets
New markets held every Sunday are set to transform the carpark of the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre in Darling Heights into a wide array of market stalls.

Over 35 stalls are confirmed for the first ever edition which will be held this Sunday, 5 October from 8am to 1pm, with free entry and ample free parking at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre, 20 Baker Street, Darling Heights.
Expect to find a bit everything at the SG Sunday Markets, from fresh produce, food vans and Toowoomba icon The Baker’s Duck to locally distilled gin, artisans and free face painting.
Other things you’ll find at the markets include live music, rotating weekly artisan stalls, a paddock to plate butcher, Miley & Me Pet Supplies and Toowoomba Hills Estate wines.
The SG Sunday Markets is partnering with the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) Student Guild, a not-for-profit organisation providing opportunities for UniSQ students.
The idea came alive when market organisers Darrin and Milli, saw the southern side of Toowoomba and wider area unrepresented when it comes to markets.
Student Guild General Manager Andrew Johnson said the markets will be a great way to connect students to the wider community and give them the chance to work on their entrepreneurial skills and start micro-businesses.
Andrew said in tough cost of living times, he hopes the markets will also support the SG Food Pantry, a free support program dedicated to assisting current UniSQ students experiencing food insecurity.
When the SG Sunday Markets are on, Andrew said the sporting facilities at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre will be open to the wider public to enjoy.
Anyone who has been to the established markets in Toowoomba will know how difficult it can be to find somewhere to park.
This won’t be a problem at the SG Sunday Markets, with over 1,000 free parking spaces available at UniSQ.
Darrin said another key point of difference with other Toowoomba markets is the more family friendly later starting and ending times of 8am and 1pm.
