Southbrook woman dies in crash at Umbiram

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal single vehicle traffic crash at Umbiram on Tuesday that claimed the life of a 31-years-old Southbrook woman.

Just before 8am emergency services were called to Umbiram Road, near the Whittakers Road turnoff following reports of a single vehicle traffic crash.

Initial investigations indicate that the vehicle, a white Ford Falcon, left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene.

Four crews from the Queensland Fire Department attended and were on site assisting police until past 10am.

The road was closed during this time at the O’Shea Avenue/Harelmar Road and Umbiram Road intersection at Southbrook.

Investigations are ongoing.
