Stockyard goes back to back at Beef Battle
Stockyard Beef has been named the Professional Judge’s Choice Winner at the Darling Downs Beef Battle for the second consecutive year.

The ‘steaks’ were high at the 2025 Darling Downs Beef Battle last Thursday night with two local brands claiming their titles as People’s Choice and Professional Judge’s Choice.
Now in its eighth year, this event is a true celebration of Darling Downs grain-fed beef and has become a prime cut of the beef calendar.
Ten local producers, Bow Creek Food & Agribusiness, NH Foods, Mort & Co, Rangers Valley, The Grove Shorthorns, Stockyard, John Dee, Stanbroke, JBS and King River competed for the coveted title of Darling Downs’ Best Beef.
Stockyard won the Judge’s Choice, while King River won People’s Choice.
Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise General Manager – Food Leaders Australia, Rowie Beveridge said it was a rare opportunity for the industry to come together and honour the excellence of the region’s leading beef brands.
“More than 500 guests gathered to ‘meat’ the best in the business and showcase the paddock-to-plate journey and the people who make it happen,” Ms Beveridge said.
