Funded through Round 7 of the Queensland Government’s Queensland Feral Pest Initiative, the mural is part of a broader awareness campaign aimed at educating the public about the destructive impact of feral rabbits on native ecosystems, agriculture, and biodiversity.

Created by renowned street artist Fuzeillear, Thrive Again uses bold, evocative imagery to spark conversation and promote community understanding.

Thrive Again depicts threatened native species that are directly impacted by rabbits, with the ever-present rabbit threat being held back by DDMRB’s 555km rabbit barrier fence.

“Rabbits are in low numbers in Queensland when compared to the southern States, thanks to the work of the DDMRB and the success of biological controls but they are still Australia’s most damaging pest species, impacting upon over 300 threatened native species and costing agriculture $200M annually.

This artwork helps bring that message to life in a way that’s accessible and memorable,” said DDMRB Chair Cr Duncan McInnes.
