Students’ achievements recognised at Awards Night
Pittsworth State High School (PSHS) held its annual Awards Night in the school hall on Wednesday, 22 October, celebrating the achievements of its students across a variety of curricula and presenting a number of special awards.
There was live entertainment on the night from the PSHS Concert Band and PSHS Strings.
Student leaders ran the event capably with Junior DP Trent O’Brien taking over to present special awards.
A big crowd and a large volume of students were recognised during the evening which is a credit to them all.
The award winners were:
School Captains (Julie Hausler Memorial) - Will Collins and Ava Schultz.
Vice School Captains (George Cain Memorial)- Jenna Kronk and Keira Quinn.
SRC Leadership Award (Sponsored by the Schultz family) - Erika Ferdinand and Abbie Summers.
Junior Secondary Captains - Corinne Clapham and Stuart Coonan.
Rob Raymond Encouragement Award - Tnika Darcy.
Public Speaking Award (Elich Family Prize) - Ava Schultz.
Country Heritage Feeds Agriculture Award - Montana Blanch.
Country Heritage Feeds Character Award - Pip Jackson.
Music Award - Ella Mengel.
Principal’s Community Award Year 7 - Ari Salgado, Year 8 - Liam Rauchle.
Lions Club of Pittsworth Citizenship Awards - Sofia Thornber and Stuart Coonan.
Pittsworth Community Bursary - Madi Gersekowski.
Community Engagement Award - Sarah Hegarty.
Pat Weir Enthusiasm Award - Abbie Summers.
TAFE Queensland Vocational Student of the Year - Paige Howe.
