Technology sets new era in health care

Residents of Pittsworth’s Beauaraba Living will be able to have consultations with a doctor through a new state-of-the-art Telehealth Cart.

Doctors from both the Pittsworth medical practices, along with Beauaraba residents, will benefit from the new technology.

The new addition was made possible by a $9900 Connected Health Care Grant from the Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network (PHN).

The Telehealth cart, with high definition video camera, allows video calls so residents can chat with a health practitioner from the comfort of their own home and surrounds.

Residents can access health care services where their Partner Practitioner deems it suitable, including the ability to receive a medical certificate, prescription/script and general medical advice.

Administration Manager at Beauaraba Kate Hanley said she believed it was the first time such a service has been made available in Pittsworth.
