The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew has airlifted a teenager to hospital after he was injured in a fall on Monday afternoon.

It is believed the teenager was working on a shed roof at a property on Oakey-Biddeston Road at 4:08pm when he fell five metres and sustained life-threatening facial and hip injuries.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 4:35pm and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) transported the patient to the helicopter which landed near the scene.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and a QAS flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for severe injuries.

He was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
