Tennis Club recognises outstanding contribution
The Pittsworth Tennis Club recently celebrated a very special occasion to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Ross Smythe to tennis and particularly the local club.

In celebration of this, an afternoon tea for Ross was hosted by the Tennis Club.
Those in attendance included people he has worked with for many years.
In the last 30 years, Ross has served as President, Secretary and Treasurer of the local club.
For most of that time he was Treasurer and organised and ran numerous tournaments over that period.
He was a representative on the regional tennis committee and has been part of the Toowoomba tennis organisation as well.
Although Ross hasn’t played competitive tennis for about the last 10 years he still volunteered to be on the committee and serve tirelessly, truly an outstanding effort.
Ross gave good guidance and stability to the club and was able to do so with his own dry wit and humour which helped make all of our jobs a little more enjoyable.
The Club unveiled a plaque on the office wall to commemorate this event.
Ross had his four brothers and their wives and a niece come out to support him on the day.
Congratulations Ross, we will miss you but you will always be a part of this club.
Thank you for your service.
