Local business The Hub: Programs for Purpose, part of Annie’s House in Pittsworth and Ngaya Inda Ngali Care Service, caters to people on NDIS and living with a disability in the surrounding communities, and teaches life skills through social engagement by offering a variety of programs.

One of the programs that is on offer, is The Hub Farm.

Farm Coordinator Julie Johnson was very excited that her clients would be participating in the Pittsworth Show this year, to showcase what they have learned in this program.

Due to bad weather this year all events in the arena were cancelled.

Julie thought it would be a shame for the clients not to have the opportunity to put their skills into practice that they have learned, like the agriculture industry and all it entails.

So, with the support of everyone at The Hub and Annie’s House, Julie decided to hold The Hub Farm Exhibition last Friday, 9th May, on a property just outside Pittsworth.

Clients had an opportunity to participate in a grooming demonstration, parade of ponies, in-hand showing demonstration in the arena, exercise drills over poles in the arena, parade of goats and fancy-dress class.

May 9th was also national Do It For Dolly Day.

What a great day to choose to showcase what these wonderful people have achieved.

In honour of national Do It For Dolly Day 2025 everyone wore blue.

The clients even dressed up Dash the pony with blue paint as part of the fancy dress class.

A fantastic day was had by all and everyone got a ribbon just for being part of the day.

This was a great way to honour national Do It For Dolly Day with people of different capabilities coming together to showcase what this programme has helped them to achieve, such as finding people they can connect with and a sense of belonging.
