The joy of Easter at Emu Creek

Emu Creek State School was a hub of colour, creativity and community spirit as students, families and staff came together for the annual Easter Bonnet Parade and Family Picnic Morning Tea.

This is what the school had to say:

At 9am, the Easter Bonnet Parade began, showcasing the ingenuity and imagination of students.

Families were treated to a vibrant display of handcrafted bonnets, many made from everyday items found around the home.

From colourful creations to towering headpieces, the students’ efforts wowed the crowd of over 50 parents, grandparents, playgroup members and extended family who attended to show their support.

Certificates were awarded in three fun categories:

  • Most Colourful Easter Bonnet

First – Amelia, Second – Carmi, Third - Luke

  • Tallest Easter Bonnet

    First - Kit (1m 50!), Second - Max J (1m 33), Third - Madison (1m 18)

  • Most Creative Easter Bonnet

First - Matthew – complete with a bubble machine! Second - Lena Third - Hudson

Following the parade, families gathered for a relaxing B.Y.O. Picnic Morning Tea, enjoying a moment to unwind and connect after a busy term.

Children and adults alike joined in Easter Egg biscuit decorating, crafting edible masterpieces together.

To wrap up the morning, picnic games brought plenty of laughs and friendly competition.

Thanks to our hardworking Student Council, large lawn games such as Connect 4, Jenga and beanbag toss were available for all to enjoy, adding a playful and memorable finish to the day.

Events like this are what make Emu Creek State School “a great place to grow”, a small school with a big heart and strong community ties.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make the morning such a success.
