Third time lucky...maybe?

A proposal to create some residential housing lots at Greenmount is about to be considered by Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) for a third time.

The application relates to an area of land on the northern side of Greenmount Connection Road on the eastern approach to Greenmount township.

The original application, lodged in October, 2024, included plans for one existing lot to become ten residential housing lots.

That application was refused by Council in May, 2025.

A revised layout was discussed with TRC on the basis of reducing the number of allotments to nine.

However, Council told the developers that the State Assessment and Referral Agency had concerns about direct access from individual lots onto the Greenmount Connection Road.

The new application seeks to address the concerns of the reasons for refusal of the original application and the concerns of the State Assessment and Referral Agency.

No lots have direct access to Greenmount Connection Road.

The small subdivision is proposed to be serviced by a cul-de-sac off the main road.

In the new proposal, lot sizes range from 2038 square metres to 3869 square metres.

The north-western edge of the land in question adjoins a previously approved subdivision off Gilbride Street.

The application has been lodged by Precinct Urban Planning on behalf of the developers, John and Diana Burton.
