Trio of road crashes

In the last week, emergency services have responded to three traffic accidents in areas surrounding Pittsworth and Millmerran.

On 12th June at approximately 12.30pm, a white Subaru sedan was travelling north along the Gore Highway at Brookstead when it was struck from behind by a B-double truck, causing the sedan to veer off the road.

The 17-years-old female driver of the sedan was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toowoomba for observation.

A 73-years-old female passenger was taken to St. Vincent’s for treatment to back injuries, while a 46-years-old woman, also travelling in the sedan, was uninjured.

The driver of the truck, a 52-years-old man was not injured.

A spokesperson for the Queensland Police Service said the truck driver was issued a traffic infringement notice for following another vehicle too closely, and received a fine of $376.

Early on 15th June, a male in his 30s rolled his vehicle on Bongeen Road to avoid colliding with a kangaroo.

He was treated for a cut to the head but declined transport.

On 16th June, two cars collided at the intersection of Turallin Road and Carter Road, west of Millmerran.

Firefighters extricated one male in his 20s trapped in a vehicle at the scene.

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 7.05am.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the patient for pelvic injuries.

He was flown in a stable condition to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
