Update On Allora Community Hall
The Southern Downs Regional Council was contacted last Friday looking for answers to the problem that caused the closure of the Community Hall and when the facility will be open for public use.
A Council spokesman advised that a recent inspection of the Hall by a structural engineer found a number of structural concerns that posed safety risks with continued use.
“Evidence of significant movement within the major structural elements of the roof and walls was apparent. Council met with the engineer this week and a structural remedial design is underway and we hope to have the hall available to the public as soon as it is safe to do so. The community’s safety is Council’s number one priority.” the Council spokesman said.
