Update On Stark’s Trough At Allora
Planning started in February this year to preserve Stark’s Trough in Dalrymple Park.
Solid supports now installed to support the trough.
Project co-ordinators George and Kerry Smith from Drayton House met with locals to toss around ideas on the best way to preserve this historic monument.
George Smith, who is Project Manager for Queensland Rollingstock advises that planned works to provide additional supports to the trough have now been installed and essentially all of the physical works are now complete. Wet weather caused considerable delays and fortunately the trough did not drift away.
A public gathering will be held tomorrow Saturday 11th June where the new plaques will be revealed by the daughter of Jack Busiko who presented the trough to Wally Stark.
Those who wish to attend be at Stark’s trough at 8am with the grand revealing of the plaques at 8.30.
