Wattles don indigenous jerseys in truth telling journey
Wattles Warriors have, for the past two weeks, been wearing the club’s Indigenous Jersey, designed by Charlie Waters and assisted by Gary Halliday.
The jersey tells the story of the two towns - Clifton and Allora and their connection to Rugby League and country.
On Country, the Wattles story has been walked by its people - grounded in culture, community, and connection.
It is a story of unity and resilience, carried by generations who have come together to build something greater than themselves.
The green and gold hold the spirit of the club, representing pride, belonging, and identity.

Across the jersey, the flowing pathways and river lines show movement and life.

The figures walking together reflect this shared path, showing that no one walks alone.
The landscape and patterns represent Country - our foundation.
The hills, rivers, and markings hold memory, strength, and belonging.

The dot work captures moments and contributions - each mark part of a larger story that continues to grow with every generation.
This design proudly honours the strength, leadership, and cultural legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
It stands in truth, respect, and unity, acknowledging the past while walking strong into the future.
