The Manktelow Challenge is a memorial carnival remembering Sue
Manktelow and her contributions to Pittsworth & District Junior Rugby League and the community of Pittsworth.

The Pittsworth & District Zone 4 Junior Rugby League was overwhelmed with the attendance and enthusiasm of all involved last weekend.

Over 90 games of football were played in the 16-team event, thousands of tackles made and many metres gained, all contributing to the making of so many great league memories.

Warwick’s Collegians Junior Dragons deservedly won the Spirit of the Carnival award for 2025.

Under the watchful eye of coach Chris Ryan, Wattles’ Under 11 team took the field in six matches, four on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Coach Ryan commended the Carnival on the very high standard for the Under 11 age group, and his Wattles lads were well up to the task.

The young Warriors won matches against Toowoomba clubs Newtown and Southern Suburbs-Black, played a draw against Dalby along with losses to Roma, Collegians-White of Warwick and from the host club Pittsworth-Green.

Chris Ryan extended his thanks to Tim Johnson for his efforts organising and assisting with coaching, First Aid Officer Laurie Byrne and the many parents and friends for their support.
