Wattles Juniors in Action in RISE Carnival

Wattles Junior Rugby League player’s 2025 club fixture season may have come to end, but many of their achieving representative players were in action at Redcliffe over the past weekend in the annual RISE Rugby League Development Program Carnival as members of the Clydesdales line up.

The Carnival, that attracted RISE teams from around South East Queensland, was hosted at the Dick ‘Tosser’ Turner Complex at Kippa-Ring and catered for Under 16 girls along with Under 15, 14 & 13 boys.

Wattles Under 15 players involved in the Clydesdales team included Ty Betts, Nash Schwenke, Cooper Locke, Lawson Slater, Jack Burton, Zavier Dalsanto and Dominic Kirby.

Players from Pittsworth, Dalby, Chinchilla, Highfields and Toowoomba’s Southern Suburbs club were also members of the team that impressed winning three of their programmed four matches.

The RISE program is the pathway beyond community rugby league for aspiring players and coaches.

The RISE player and coach development program will provide the Queensland with an aligned program adopted by all teams and coaches in preparation for the QRL rebel State Development Series.

The combination of increased playing opportunities and structured training programs is designed to support ongoing participation in community rugby league while preparing our male and female players for future pathway opportunities.
