Dalrymple Landscape Haulage Pty Ltd Under 9 - Wattles’ Under 9 side produced an excellent team effort according to Coach Josh McPherson: “While the boys improved their defensive display, some wonderful tries were also scored. It was excellent to see the skills honed at training on display during the game.”

Black Toyota Warwick Under 10 - A very strong Goondiwindi Under 10 line-up proved capable opponents for Wattles. Although the young Boars had the better of play in the first half, Wattles certainly made up for it in the second scoring four tries to two. “A much-improved performance, particularly defensively” Coach Luke Townsend said, “super proud of them.”

Clifton Auto Ag Repairs Under 11 - Going down four tries to three, Wattles’ Under 11s had to contend with a hefty, physical Goondiwindi line-up. The first half proved a shock to the Warriors, with a lot of disjointed play in attack and suspect defence line. “The ability of this team to regroup and work together is always so impressive as the second half was completely different to the first,” Coach Chris Ryan said. Good defensive line speed and plenty of passing and support play saw the boys score three tries with Toby Schmidt, Rhys Gascoyne and Jack Browns touching down. “Very proud of the boys further gaining an understanding of sticking together as a team, not giving up and also believing in their ability,” the coach said.

Ryanie for Tyres Under 12 - It was a tough day for the under 12s on Saturday up against a big, strong Goondiwindi group. Max Death was the top performer in the contest with plenty of runs and a great defensive effort. Will Berry’s second half display was also a highlight, while Harry Jones’ work rate continues to improve.

All In Electrical Under 15 Girls League Tag  - It was an enthusiastic Wattles’ Under 15 girls’ side that notched up its initial win for the season against an under-strength Goondiwindi team. A convincing win indeed with many of the girls crossing the try line, some twice and Tori Sweet scoring a hat trick. The most pleasing aspect from Coach George Berry’s perspective was seeing the girls stick to the game plan with well-constructed sets, very minimal handling errors and great defence. The sportsmanship shown
by the girls also showed the quality of their character. “This is once again a young team that will no doubt continue to improve as the season progresses,” Coach Berry said.

Wattles 52 (Tori Sweet 3, Isabelle Hetherington 2, Mia Berry 2, Ella Morris 2, Mahalia Williams, Millie Dalsanto tries; Mia Berry 3, Rikaya Kelk goals) defeated Goondiwindi 0.

Nutrien Harcourts Clifton Under 13 - Wattles 24 (Jackson McMillan 2, Jesse Samin 2, Kobe Davis, Levi Zadow tries) defeated Goondiwindi 18.

Drayton Medical Centre Under 15 - Wattles 38 (Zavier Dalsanto 2, Cayleb O’Neil 2, Cooper Locke, Hugh Denny, Jack Burton, Archer Steinhardt tries; Cayleb O’Neil 3 goals) defeated Goondiwindi 16.

Ridley Under 13/14 Development Cup - Wattles point scorers (Jade Bailey 3, Jed Hinz 2, Cooper Zadow 2, Jake Burns 2, Ben Butler 2, Toby Cruickshank 2, Cooper Gray 2, Deigo Shephard-Picton, Thomas Patterson, Riley Hardy, Archie Joppich tries; Jake Burns 6, Cooper Zadow 2, Jed Hinz, Dustyn May, Cooper Gray goals) defeated Goondiwindi 4.

Farm Spray Under 17  - Wattles 28 (Zac Wheeldon 3, Kuda Ackland, Tom Berresford tries; Mitchell Reibelt 3, Patrick Denny goals) defeated Goondiwindi 18.

Round 3
