We will remember them

A dawn service at Westbrook and a mid-morning service at Greenmount were among the thousands of services that took place across the nation commemorating one of the most important dates on the calendar: Anzac Day.

The choir from Bunkers Hill State School impressed everyone, including parents, some of whom were surprised to find that their children knew not only both verses of the Australian National Anthem, but also the Maori and English verses of the New Zealand National Anthem.

In the lead-up to Anzac Day and following it, many local schools have and will be also hosting their own ceremonies.

A significant feature of Anzac Day is the ever increasing interest shown by the younger generations, something which is greatly appreciated by veterans and their families.
