The Toowoomba and District Old Machinery Society took over the Oakey Showgrounds for an exhibition which attracted hundreds from across Southern Queensland.

In the Oakey Show-grounds arena, events took place including V8 sled pulling led by the girls from Kingaroy, and tractor balance beams.

The event dinner at the Greenwood Hall was attended by 97 people, who were entertained by bush poet and former Oakey DPI worker Peter Frazer.

Stacks of other events were held across the two days with just under 500 paying adults entering the gates, a boon for local groups including the Oakey Girl Guides and St. Monica’s Primary School.

They were treated to a wide variety of exhibitions, including old engines machines, trucks and cars.

Organisers were happy with the turnout at the event, the first since COVID.
