Woman injured in crash at Pilton
A two car crash at Pilton on Monday morning saw one woman transported by ambulance to the Toowoomba Hospital
The woman, who is in her 30s, was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
It was 8.52am when the two utilities collided.
One failed to stop at a ‘stop’ sign.
The scene looked a lot more serious at the time, a huddle of energy workers around a woman kept stable in a neck brace on the ground.
Paramedics were darting back and forth from the ambulances, police managing traffic and firies checking the scene.
The power workers had seen the crash and raced over to help.
Two police, a fire crew and three ambulance crews were sent to the incident but thankfully only one was needed for patient transport.
Witnesses described the seriousness of the crash.
The male driver coming out of Pilton Valley Road t-boned the female driver heading north-east.
The male driver declined paramedic attention and seemed to be uninjured.
The female driver’s car had rolled at least 20 metres back up the hill as a result of the impact.
The driver’s side was bent inwards and the roof had popped out of its frame.
The driver of the other ute has been issued with an infringement for not stopping at the ‘stop’ sign.
The female driver was travelling around 100km/hr and the male driver coming through the stop sign was going at about 80km/hr based on what he told police.
The scene was largely cleared by 9.30 with the woman transported to hospital and the wreckage cleared.
One lane of Gatton-Clifton Road was blocked while fire crews and paramedics managed the patient and the scene.
