Women's Shed donate to worthy cause
The Pittsworth Women's Shed has donated $2000 to the Belinda McGowan Foundation to assist in acquiring a cuddle bed for the local aged care facility, Beauaraba Living.

Gail Parish, President of the Women's Shed presented the cheque to Bruce McGowan, Founder of the Belinda McGowan Foundation on Monday morning.
Also present were Beauaraba Living CEO Bradley Jones and Board Chair Wayne Saal.
The Belinda McGowan Foundation, created in honour of a beloved veteran and advocate for dignified end-of-life care, has been fundraising to donate a cuddle bed, worth $20,000-24,000 to Beauaraba Living.
The Foundation's cuddle bed combination can be configured as either two separate king single beds or combined into a queen size bed for closeness.
It’s fitted with two independent control systems, allowing personalised adjustments for each side.
The design ensures both comfort for the patient and ease of use for care providers.
Sometimes, the greatest gift you can give is simply the chance to hold someone close, to say goodbye, and to share a quiet moment of peace, comfort and love.
“Beauaraba Living is more than a facility - it’s a home,” Mr McGowan said.
“They’ve been there for so many local families, and this is our chance to give something meaningful back - something that says, ‘we see the care you give, and we’re with you'.”
The Belinda McGowan Foundation has already donated cuddle beds to residential aged care facilities in Warwick, Stanthorpe, and Killarney, as well as to numerous hospitals across Queensland.
Each one is a representation of a legacy of love, and a powerful message that no one should face the end of life without the comfort of connection.
Now it's time for Pittsworth to have one too.
The campaign has received an incredible early show of support, with the Pittsworth Women’s Shed's donation a significant kick-start to the fundraising efforts.
On behalf of the Foundation, Mr McGowan extended his heartfelt thanks to the Women's Shed for leading the way with such a powerful gesture of community care.
Beauaraba Living received a syringe driver worth more than $4000 earlier this year from the Foundation.
