The Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village could become the permanent home of the Pittsworth Women’s Shed if a development application submitted to Toowoomba Regional Council is approved.

The planning report for the application was submitted in late December by Precinct Urban Planning on behalf of the Pittsworth Women’s Shed.
The report proposes a building, the ‘shed’, to be constructed near the south-west corner of the Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village site, which is near Allport Street.
“The proposed shed will be divided into a range of areas including a main area, kitchenette, lunch area and two store rooms,” the report says.
“The building will be fitted with windows on both internal and external walls to ensure that there is sufficient opportunity to maintain clear sightlines from within the building and with the surrounding area.”
Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 3pm are the proposed operating times for the shed.
Activities will include craft and sewing.
It is noted the shed may also need to be opened on other days when tours take place for the entire Historic Village.
It measures 18 metres by 12 metres by 3 metres.
The land is zoned as Community Facilities Zone/Government Precinct.
Alongside the Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village, it is also used by the Pittsworth Men’s Shed and Pittsworth Woodcarvers Club.
